Los Angeles is already known around the world as one of the focal points for art (and creativity in general, it could be argued), and last week the city made a move to further cement that title. The Broad Museum is Downtown Los Angeles' latest contemporary art museum, and it's ready for you and your friends to come by and get cultured.
The brand new museum holds an impressive 120,000 square feet worth of contemporary art, having cost about $140 million to build (architecture courtesy of Diller, Scofidio + Renfro, for the curious).
Inside, you can check out over two thousand works of contemporary art, from artists ranging from Lichtenstein to Warhol.
Not long ago, LAist ran a pretty impressive set of photos from a pre-opening event. Check them out below, and be sure to pay the Broad a visit if you find yourself near DTLA anytime soon.
